I stayed with Jessica for a wedding one weekend, in Jupiter Beach, before I was living back in South Florida (she is always so kind and opens her home anytime I need a place to stay). She had asked if I would do a quick “mommy and me” session of Mae and herself. I had photographed the two of them when Mae was only about a week old, so getting to photograph them again was such an honor. Living far away from them, I didn’t get to see the connection that these two had formed. It was so neat to see Mae older and how much she loved her momma.
I adore family sessions, but there is something so special about a session with a mom and her first born. Each child is unique and forms there own bond, but there is something about the newness of it all. This is mom’s first experience with her own child. This is a time where they are both learning together and growing. I’ve done a handful of sessions with just mom and her first born and they have become some of my favorites.
